Our original intention was to keep this special chapter of our lives entirely private and refrain from making any public statements. However, as news of our wedding began to appear in the media, we decided to publish a brief press release summarizing the occasion. I would therefore like to begin this series recounting my marriage journey by sharing the official announcement we released.
Rengin Arzu and Serhan Süzer Get Married
Rengin Arzu and Serhan Süzer, two accomplished figures from the worlds of business, entrepreneurship, and social impact, united their lives in an intimate wedding ceremony held in Rabat, Morocco, attended by their families and close friends.
As the Founder and Creative Director of Gajah, Rengin Arzu is recognized for her distinctive design philosophy that seamlessly blends contemporary aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship. Her entrepreneurial mindset, solution-oriented approach, strong communication skills, and design-driven vision have established her as one of the promising young leaders of the business world.
Serhan Süzer, meanwhile, built a distinguished career beginning with the Süzer Holding family business, where he held key leadership positions including Asset Management at The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul, Project Director for Coca-Cola Iraq, and CEO of KFC and Pizza Hut Türkiye. He later continued his professional journey as an entrepreneur, founding Hitit Solar and EkoRE in the renewable energy sector, and Moka in the financial technology industry, leading several pioneering initiatives in Türkiye.
Beyond his business achievements, Süzer is widely recognized for his contributions to civil society as the founder of the Basic Needs Association (Temel İhtiyaç Derneği), which introduced food banking in Türkiye, and the Disaster Platform (Afet Platformu), an organization established to coordinate non-governmental organizations during times of disaster. In addition, he successfully served as the Honorary Consul of Costa Rica for fourteen years, making significant contributions in the field of diplomacy.
The couple’s journey toward marriage began with a meaningful milestone on June 7, when a traditional engagement and family introduction ceremony was held in Diyarbakır. With the participation of their families, the event celebrated cherished traditions while marking the beginning of a lifelong bond between the two families.
Their official wedding ceremony took place on June 26 in Rabat, Morocco’s historic and culturally rich capital. The ceremony was officiated by H.E. M. İlker Kılıç, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Morocco and a close friend of Serhan Süzer since their years together at McGill University in Canada. Held in the gardens of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, the ceremony was witnessed by family members and close friends and was distinguished by its elegance, simplicity, and heartfelt atmosphere.
Following the wedding ceremony, the couple hosted their families and close friends in Marrakech. Inspired by Morocco’s rich cultural heritage, the celebration featured refined details and a warm, intimate atmosphere that was greatly appreciated by all the guests.
The celebrations continued only a few days later. Having married on Friday, June 26, Serhan Süzer attended his graduation ceremony at Boğaziçi University on Monday, June 29, accompanied by his wife. Committed to lifelong learning and personal development, Süzer successfully completed the Master’s Program in Engineering and Technology Management within the Department of Industrial Engineering, which he had begun in 2024. The month became an unforgettable milestone for the couple and their families, bringing together both the joy of marriage and the pride of academic achievement.

I first met my wife, Rengin, on March 26. Exactly two months later, on May 26, I officially proposed to her. On June 7, we celebrated our engagement ceremony in Diyarbakır, followed by a pre-honeymoon in Brazil, and finally, on June 26, we were married at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Rabat, Morocco.
