Atatürk attempted a feat that, given the circumstances of the time, could have been considered nearly impossible: to create a new nation from a collapsing empire. Moreover, he initiated this resistance at a time when all imperialist powers were implementing concrete plans against Turkey. Only a genius like Atatürk could undertake such a responsibility. Despite all the difficulties, he implemented his plan, and although conditions sometimes did not favor him, he never abandoned his cause. Initially, he established himself as the legitimate leader of a fragmented nation’s resistance movement through his success in the Gallipoli Campaign and the subsequent steps he took. While creating the new nation, he struggled to establish an effective government, rebuild a disbanded army, and mobilize the people for a major war. In achieving all of these, he demonstrated his genius in each one of these areas.
When we look at history, we see that both domestic and international experts who can professionally evaluate military service describe Atatürk’s actions on the battlefield as the work of great genius. Of course, Atatürk did this not only on the battlefield, but also when he won the War of Independence and founded the Republic of Turkey. Despite all the hardships, Atatürk and his colleagues miraculously established a strong Republic, a great force of balance in the world. And after all this, the great leader said: “One day my humble body will surely turn to dust; but the Republic of Turkey will stand forever.”
Children of the Republic
Today, the Republic he founded has produced many remarkable individuals. From Nobel Prize-winning scientists to doctors who have made significant contributions to world medical literature, to writers and artists who have produced great works, many important figures have served humanity.
I, too, am a child of the Republic, born 54 years after the founding of the Republic and 39 years after the death of the great leader Atatürk. I grew up benefiting from all the opportunities the Republic offered us. For example, I attended primary school at İlhami Ahmet Örnekal, a public school on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. I have cultivated wonderful friendships since primary school. I always had a wonderful time, first at Azra Children’s Home and then at Tarabya Kemal Atatürk High School. As children of the Republic, we all positively influenced each other. With this knowledge, I studied at McGill University in Canada. At a university that developed my vision and perfectly suited my character, I saw where developed countries stand and what I could achieve as a person. I returned to my country. After completing my military service, I went through a very challenging and challenging period for 18 years, both in the family business and in the ventures I founded.
Journey from local to global
I’m now ready. I’m on the verge of establishing international organizations that will make significant contributions to humanity and our country, a source of pride for the entire nation.
I took the first step in Niğde. You may recall that we held the groundbreaking ceremony for an integrated solar panel production facility last March, which includes ingot, wafer, cell, and module processes. I’m sharing the video of this ceremony with you as a reminder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THT6ct0x2mQ
I can announce that I’ve begun to enter the global market in terms of international projects. Last week, I held important meetings at Intersolar, where all the global solar energy players meet, and for the first time, I was a panel speaker at such a significant event.
About Intersolar Europe
To give you a better understanding, let me define Intersolar as written on its official website:
Intersolar Europe is the world’s leading trade fair for the solar energy industry.
Held annually at the Messe München exhibition center in Munich, Germany, Intersolar Europe is the world’s leading event bringing together the solar industry and its related sectors. Both the trade fair and conference sections of this gathering focus on areas such as photovoltaic applications, solar energy technologies and power plants, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy integration solutions. Since its founding 27 years ago, Intersolar has become the most important industry platform for manufacturers, consumers, distributors, service providers, and related sectors in the solar energy sector worldwide. For more details, let me share Intersolar’s website with you: https://www.intersolar.de/en/home.html
This is a summary video of Intersolar 2019, held last week: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdQYYstiLic
I’d also like to take this opportunity to share the information in the thank-you note I received at the end of Intersolar 2019:
Intersolar Europe opened its doors from May 15-17, and you had the opportunity to witness how much Europe’s largest energy industry platform has grown and strengthened this year. Participants in the four trade fairs held in 10 halls of Messe München presented their presentations on efficient generation, storage, distribution, and the use of renewable energies.
On a 100,000 m² exhibition area, 1,354 exhibitors presented their innovative projects, products, and solutions. Approximately 50,000 visitors from 162 countries were guests at this exciting and informative innovation summit.
Panel Subject and Speakers
I have been attending the Intersolar event in Munich regularly for the last seven years. There have been years when I haven’t been able to attend. This year, however, there was significant activity at the event, a sign of the revitalization of the solar energy market. It’s very good news that the solar market is gaining momentum in the sector these days, as we are experiencing an energy revolution.
My speech was delivered in Hall C2. Our panel, part of a series discussing “Energy Storage,” was titled: C-Level Panel Discussion: The Future of Energy Storage.
“C-Level” here refers to a panel comprised of the highest-level executives. In other words, the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) is at the top of the executive branch, the CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) is at the top of marketing, or the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) is at the top of finance.
Our moderator was Stuart Brannigan, head of AEG’s solar energy division. The other speakers were:
– Dr. Henrik Colell, Co-founder and Managing Director, HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH, Germany
– Jan Brunner, Head of Sales, Krannich Solar GmbH & Co. KG, Germany
– Roman Jordan, Head of Global Sales RES, Varta Storage GmbH, Germany
– Felix Dembski, Vice President Strategy, Sonnen GmbH, Germany
– Andreas Fritz, Head of Global Marketing, Varta Storage GmbH, Germany
– Fu Donglei, Senior Project Development Manager, BYD Europe B.V., The Netherlands

Strong answers to important questions
The panel discussion generally focused on the following questions:
- Does energy storage really have a future? What do your unique storage technologies and customer offerings offer to provide this infrastructure?
- Do you have evidence that you can meet the growing storage demand? How do you assess this customer demand?
- What needs to be done for energy storage to become widespread, both in the public sector, the local market, and the small commercial market? What factors will enable this?
- What technological breakthroughs need to be made to contribute to the development of the storage market, and what kinds of partnerships need to be established between players?
- Where will the storage sector take off? Considering other players and markets like China, can it be said that Europe has missed the mark in terms of production and distribution?
- Announcements have been made about energy storage production incentives in Europe, while comments have surfaced that Europe is being overlooked compared to other energy storage hubs like Australia and the Middle East. What are your views on this matter? What can you say about the impact of your approach on your own business and, more generally, on the future of energy storage?

Continuing to serve under all circumstances in our Centenary!
I’ve shared the above information to give you an idea. From now on, our future is bright in many ways. Of course, those who try to hinder us, those who deliberately frustrate us, those who fabricate their own stories and lie about us, those who fabricate conspiracy theories, those who work with us and make a living, those who want to corner us, those who want to take advantage of us during difficult times, those who want to extort money during good times—in short, people of all kinds will appear before us. We’ve already witnessed a significant number of them. No problem. We continue to advance on our own path, no matter the circumstances.
Our path is clear. What we strive for is also crystal clear.
As children of the Republic of Turkey and Atatürk, we will continue to serve our country under all circumstances.
We will do our utmost to develop new technologies, products, and models for the advancement of humanity.
The rest is history…
On this occasion, I celebrate 19 May, Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, the Centenary of the first step taken by the great leader Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms for the independence of our nation.
