To be worthy of our Republic on the 100th anniversary of Ilk Adim

When Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk went to Samsun with the Bandırma ferry with his fellow soldiers to start the War of Independence, he took the first important step to achieve his dream of establishing a new nation that seemed almost impossible. And we, who want to be worthy of our republic now, which is seen as almost impossible in the current conditions; took the first step in Nigde for the aim of achieving a “Global Company” from our country.

At the time, Ataturk had attempted something that could be described as almost impossible under the circumstances of that time: creating a new nation from a collapsing empire. Moreover, he launched this resistance at a time when imperialist powers were enforced over Turkia. And only a genius like Atatürk could have taken such responsibility. In spite of all the difficulties, he made his plan, he never gave up on them although from time to time the circumstances did not allow him to do what he wanted. At first, as the legitimate leader of the resistance movement of a fragmented nation, he established himself with his success in the Gallipoli war and the steps he took. In order to create the new nation, he pushed through the struggles to form an effective government, to rebuild a dispersed army and to mobilize the people for a great war. His methods and ingenuis ways were portrayed in each step of the way when achieving all of this.

When we look at the history of the local and foreign experts who can evaluate military service at a professional level, we witness that what Atatürk done on the battlefields is defined as the work of a great genius. After winning the War of Independence and portraying this on battlegrounds, Ataturk also did this as he set up the Republic of Turkia. Atatürk and his colleagues miraculously established a powerful republic, a great balance of the world despite all the pains. And after all this, the great leader said: One day my mortal body will turn to dust, but the Turkish Republic will stand forever.

Children of the Republic

Today, very important people have come out from the Republic he founded. From Nobel Prize-winning scientists to doctors, writers and artists who have made major contributions to the world's medical literature, many important personalities have served humanity.

I am a Republican child who was born 54 years after the foundation of the Republic and 39 years after the death of the great leader Atatürk. I grew up taking advantage of all the opportunities offered by the Republic. For example, I attended primary school at İlhami Ahmet Örnekal, a public school on the Asian side of Istanbul. I've made great friendships since primary school. I always had a wonderful time at Azra Kindergarten and then at Tarabya Kemal Atatürk High School.

As all the children of the Republic, we influenced each other positively. With this experience, I studied at McGill University in Canada. This university which was perfect for my character and the development of my vision showed me where the developed countries were and what I can do as a person. I went back to my country. After completing my military service, I had a painful and struggling process for 18 years both in the family company and in my own initiatives.

A journey from local to global

I'm ready now. I am on the verge of uncovering international organizations that will make great contributions to humanity and our country, which the whole nation will be proud of.

I took the first step from Nigde. Remember, we had the groundbreaking ceremony of the integrated solar panel manufacturing plant that includes ingot, wafer, cell and module processes last March. I would like to remind you the video of this ceremony: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THT6ct0x2mQ

I can tell you that I have started to enter the global market in terms of signing international business.

Last week, I held important meetings at Intersolar where all the solar players in the world met and I was the panel speaker for the first time at such an important event.

About Intersolar Europe

For better insight about Intersolar, let me share with you a description of their role as written on their official website:

Intersolar Europe; is the world's leading trade fair for the solar industry.

Held annually at the Messe München exhibition center in Munich, Germany, Intersolar Europe is the world's leading organization that brings together the solar industry and its subsidiary sectors. Both the fair and conference sections of this meeting; focus on photovoltaic applications, solar technologies and power plants, grid infrastructure and renewable energy integration solutions. Panel topic and speakers

I attended the Intersolar in Munich regularly for the last 7 years. There have been years when I couldn't go. This year, on the other hand, there was significant activity at this event as an indicator of the revival of the solar market. It is very good news that the solar market in the sector is moving from good to better in these days when we are experiencing the energy revolution.

I made my speech in hall C2. The title of our panel, which is part of a series of panels on which “Energy Storage” was discussed, was as follows: C-Level Panel Discussion: The Future of Energy Storage.

The “C-Level” panel is used as a panel which is made up of top executives. In other words, a CEO (Chief Executive Officer) as the head of the execution, CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) as the head of marketing, or CFO (Chief Financial Officer) as the head of finance.

Our moderator was Stuart Brannigan, head of AEG's solar division. The names of the speakers other than myself were as follows:

- Dr. Henrik Colell, Co-founder and Managing Director, HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH, Germany
- Jan Brunner, Head of Sales, Krannich Solar GmbH & Co. KG, Germany
- Roman Jordan, Head of Global Sales RES, Varta Storage GmbH, Germany
- Felix Dembski, Vice President Strategy, Sonnen GmbH, Germany
- Andreas Fritz, Head of Global Marketing, Varta Storage GmbH, Germany
- Fu Donglei, Senior Project Development Manager, BYD Europe B.V., Holland

Strong answers to important questions

The panel exchanged views around the following questions in general:

  • Does energy storage really have a future? What do your unique storage technologies and customer offerings provide for this infrastructure?
  • Do you have evidence that you can meet the growing demand for storage? How do you evaluate this demand from the customer?
  • What needs to be done both in the public, local and small commercial markets for energy storage to become widespread? What will enable this?
  • What technological breakthroughs should be made to contribute to the development of the storage market, and what partnerships should be established between the players?
  • Where will the storage sector rise? Considering other players and markets, such as China, can Europe be said to miss the bus in terms of production and distribution?
  • There have been announcements about production incentives for energy storage in Europe, while comments have been raised that Europe is ignored compared to other energy storage basins such as Australia and the Middle East. What do you think about this? What can you say about the impact of your approach to your own business and, more generally, the future of energy storage?

You can find the answers to these questions in the conversations made in the panels below:

I would also like to share photos from the panel with you:

Continuing service no matter the conditions in the 100th year!

I have shared the above information to give you an idea. From now on, the path is open to us in many ways. Of course, there will be those who try to put stones in our way, deliberately get on our nerves, talk about creating their own lies and conspiracy theories, those who work with us to eat and also pollute us in the same token, those wanting to squeeze us into the corner, take advantage of the hard times, and make money in the good times, in short, people of all kinds of darkness will come towards us. We have already witnessed a significant majority. This is no real problem. We will continue to move on our own path no matter what conditions we are in.

Our path is very clear. What we're trying to do is very clear.

We will continue to service our country as the Republic of Turkia and Ataturk's children in any condition we face.

We will do our best to create new technologies, products and models for the development of humanity.

The rest is history…

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Atatürk on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the first step taken by the great leader Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms for the independence of our nation.
