At the Basic Needs Association (TIDER), we’ve successfully operated our first pilot Support Market in Maltepe for over a year: We’ve met the basic needs of over 4,000 families, including food, cleaning products, and clothing, and created jobs for nearly 50 people.

Now, it’s time to implement our proven Support Project (Support Market + Support HR) in one of Istanbul’s most struggling areas. We want to open a Support Market in the Bağcılar-Esenler area. While there are approximately 5,000 people in need in Maltepe, this number reaches 100,000 in Bağcılar alone. By opening a Support Market in the Bağcılar-Esenler area, we will first prevent waste in that area. Then, we will meet the basic needs of many those in need and provide them with vocational training, enabling them to become self-sufficient. As always, I’ve tried to be concise and clear. Of course, there have been campaigns that are much more colorful than mine. I’d like to share an example of one of these campaigns that I’m truly proud of.
Here’s Burcu Çağdaş’s positive and emotional campaign article:
We’re proud to be contributing to a beneficial cause while also exercising for ourselves and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I’ve personally lost 6 kg in the last month. I’m in better shape than I expected. I think many people who participate in our campaign also see the benefits of exercise.
Big-hearted people who are passionate about different sports also support us. For example, the Jüpi Sailing Team is among those who supported our campaign. We set sail with the Jüpi Sailing Team on a Sunday, led by Melike Esra Karayel. Here’s a photo we took after the event:
