In my previous article, I wrote that U.S. President Trump was suffering from power intoxication, and that as a result, the U.S., and consequently the whole world, was going off track. The good governance of the U.S. is of great importance to the entire world. Therefore, in this article, I’ll discuss the biggest problems facing the U.S. and the solutions I propose.

Every day we wake up to another fiasco. What’s happening is like a nightmare. Let’s list some of the most obvious scandals caused by Trump recently:

1) Forcibly abducting a head of state and his wife from their country without any internationally legitimate decision or basis (even though this head of state is someone who torments his people and has become a criminal, a legal basis is absolutely necessary before such actions).

2) Constantly mentioning Greenland and openly stating that they will take Greenland and engaging in negotiations about it. There’s so much absurd manipulation going on here that Jon Stewart summarized it best on The Daily Show: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTdqaKdDlOo/?igsh=MTRkOXpiMGx2NDI0eg==

3) His statement that one day they will annex Canada to the U.S. (As someone who did his university studies in Canada and considers that country their second home, these statements bother and annoy me),

4) The constant humiliation of Europe (Even though Europeans treat Turks very badly, as someone from the land where Asia and Europe intersect, these statements anger me too). As a Eurasian, I think we should learn a lesson from these events and create a protective shield for our geography.

5) His humiliation of the Turkish president by saying, “He doesn’t disobey me, he does whatever I say.” Even though our political views may differ within the country, Turks unite in times of danger. In other words, I think he shouldn’t underestimate the Turks and that it’s essential he’s at least somewhat informed about world history.

6) His close friendship with Epstein, the despicable founder of a child rape ring, and his complete disregard for the fact that he preyed on girls under 18, while simultaneously using the power of his presidential office to fend off any actions taken in this regard.

7) His childishly scolding of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, who is currently fighting a life-or-death battle, in his own office, and making absurd statements in front of journalists, such as “Why aren’t you wearing a suit?” Even worse, his pressure on Zelenskyy to “accept Putin’s demands.”

8) His welcoming of Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the murderer who ordered the killing and dismemberment of a journalist at the Saudi Consulate in Levent, Istanbul (just 15 minutes from my home), with the highest protocol at the White House, showering him with praise, even though his very existence is questioned in the public eye.

9) In obsessively wanting the Nobel Peace Prize but being the last person who should have received it, Trump childishly sulking and immediately challenging Europe with a Greenland-like threat when he didn’t win, and then belittling Colombian opposition leader Machado, who accepted the award in his place, saying she “lacked the capacity to lead her country.”

10) Worst of all, unleashing ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), a federal law enforcement agency under the Department of Homeland Security, on his own people, with ICE employees finding those with illegal immigration status and killing them under the pretext of “we will deport them.”

11) Building a wall between the U.S. and Mexico and imposing high taxes on all trading partners in an effort to make the U.S. a closed box. Despite Trump’s grandfather being a German immigrant from Germany to the U.S., and his wife Melania Trump (originally named Melanija Knavs) being a Slovenian immigrant, he pursues a policy of ‘immigrant hatred’ and constantly incites his people against immigrants.

The famous comedian Jim Fallon summarized the issue best on his show. He said, “We were wrong to think the craziest thing Trump could do would be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico; let’s look at what he did on the day of his first anniversary” (there’s a twist at the end): https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTwkpi8jpXY/?igsh=MXhxZWpzdzB0cTljcQ==

A Summary of the Solution

Now, let’s look at the solution to the problems the U.S. faces. I will summarize the solutions to the problems below.

1) Immigration (Illegal Immigration): You cannot prevent immigration to the U.S. by isolating the country and having ICE agents attack the public. If you want to strategically stop immigration to the U.S., you need to solve the problems of the countries from which you receive the most immigrants, starting with Mexico. The main principle here is, “If people are happy in their own countries, why would they immigrate to yours?” Therefore, solving the main problems of the countries from which you receive the most immigrants, starting with Mexico, means getting to the root of the problem and solving it fundamentally. To give a concrete example; if Mexicans don’t experience economic hardship in their own country, they will never consider immigrating to the U.S. It’s that simple. Otherwise, building a wall, using violence to deter immigrants, will be of no use. People will dig trenches and tunnels under the wall you built and still enter the U.S. illegally. Or, as soon as the immigrants who were subjected to violence somehow recover, they will still enter the U.S. illegally. These people have no other option.

2) Loss of Production: Production is no longer possible in the U.S. Because manufacturing in the U.S. is extremely expensive. Classic operational items like labor need to be solved with robots and automation. Therefore, fully automated factories in the U.S. are essential. Other costly elements also need to be examined one by one, the root of the problem needs to be addressed, and the U.S. needs to become a country capable of manufacturing again. To help you visualize this, I can give the example of land. Land prices for building a factory can be very expensive. The U.S. Government (Federal or State) should provide land to manufacturers, even for free if necessary. The important thing is to bring back production and support producers and entrepreneurs.

3) Aerospace Technologies: A country like the U.S. needs to focus more on aerospace technologies. Humanity’s leap forward is space. Also, humans have no Plan B beyond our planet Earth. Since we also have the potential to rapidly destroy our planet (climate crises, nuclear risks, etc.), humans absolutely need to find ways to live on other planets. The U.S. can also take a leadership role in this area, conducting space missions independently or in cooperation with other countries. In this way, instead of directing its excess energy and resources towards harmful endeavors like armament, which could lead to the end of humanity, it can focus them on positive things that will change the caliber of Mankind.

4) Armament (for internal and external threats): There is an excessive amount of armament within the U.S. In some states, in particular, almost nobody is without a weapon. As a result, there are constant horrific events such as school shootings and mass killings. This must stop. The sale of weapons should be banned throughout the country. The use of weapons should be prohibited except by security forces.

Furthermore, the U.S. is in a power struggle with countries like Russia and China, which allocate substantial resources to and continuously strengthen their militaries, and therefore they are constantly increasing the scale of their armament. The U.S. needs to achieve global consensus and redirect resources allocated to the military to the education, welfare, and health of its citizens. Additionally, nuclear weapons, the most extreme form of armament, need to be eliminated on a platform agreed upon by all. Nuclear energy, which carries significant risks, needs to be removed from Earth and used solely for space travel. It’s time to end the notion of creating weapons from nuclear weapons.

5) Foreign Policy: In my opinion, U.S. foreign policy was already bad, but it deteriorated further under Biden and Trump. For one thing, the U.S. has made it a tradition to constantly betray and stab friendly countries in the back. I can give Türkiye as an example. You can’t smile at a country that has been a friend of the U.S. for decades, that sent a significant number of military units during the Korean War, that consistently supported the U.S., and maintained good relations and sincere friendship, while secretly supporting a terrorist organization responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, and supporting anti-Turkish neighbors by providing them with weapons, training their soldiers, and financially. The era of smiling to the face and stabbing in the back must end. Foreign affairs and intelligence officials who actively participate in these actions should be held accountable and dismissed. Whoever is creating these strategies doesn’t even realize they are triggering a chain of events that will work against the U.S. in the long run. Here’s a ridiculous strategy like the Green Belt. Under the guise of fighting communism, the U.S. supported all the Islamist terrorists, only to find that those same terrorist organizations are attacking their own country. They never consider the ‘boomerang effect’ in these matters. “I can’t comprehend how wrong the ‘enemy of my enemy is my friend’ strategy is, and how they completely failed to consider the potential for the criminals they created to commit massacres in their own countries. It’s sheer idiocy, lack of vision, and narrow-mindedness. Let’s put aside how you treat your friend Türkiye. But why do you treat Canada, a country with whom you’ve only ever had friendship since your founding, this way? Is everything permissible when you’re powerful?”

6) Individualistic and domineering culture: Individualism is gnawing away at the U.S. from within. Families toss their children out the door after they turn 18. In a Mediterranean culture like Türkiye’s, families are with their children for life. People are constantly in a social environment. This social environment can prevent people from acting foolishly and becoming depressed. It’s because of this individualistic culture that the U.S. has the highest rates of depression (and therefore the highest use of antidepressants) and suicide rates in the world.

Furthermore, the U.S. has developed a culture of looking down on everyone. Let me give a simple example of this mindset ingrained in the country’s DNA. In the NBA, one of the biggest basketball organizations, when a team wins the championship, they declare that team the ‘World Champion.’ What does NBA stand for? ‘National Basketball Association.’ They call it ‘national,’ but they declare the NBA champion the world champion. Why? Because they think no one can beat NBA teams. They say the best teams are ours, by far. But we need to ask them this: Has the NBA champion ever played a final game against a European team? We’ve witnessed the Americans, who call themselves the ‘dream team,’ being defeated at the Olympics from time to time. How can you declare yourself world champion without even playing the game?

We need to rid the country of this culture of arrogance. To do this, we need to restructure the education system to cultivate humble, grounded, competent, results-oriented, and happy individuals.

7) Education: Speaking of education, I want to emphasize that they need to change the education system from top to bottom. Education is the sole catalyst for a country’s long-term development and its ability to maintain a leadership position. Look at China. There’s an education system in China that instills collectivism (teamwork), diligence, respect, humility, and efficiency without compromise. These children, educated in this way, grow up to become the driving force of the Chinese economy. This applies to both blue-collar and white-collar workers. There’s incredible collective discipline in the country. Let’s look at the U.S.; there’s a “let nature take its course” attitude and indifference. The U.S. education system, driven by the mission of raising strong individuals, produces young people with psychological problems who are useless when they grow up. This applies to the majority. And if it weren’t for the immigrants that the Trump Administration hates, entrepreneurship and development in the U.S. would be on the verge of collapse. A new system could be created by overhauling the education system and combining elements from countries that want to emulate it. A system created by taking the best aspects from all systems in the world would, in the long run, revive the U.S.

8) Carbon emissions and sustainability: The U.S. has by far the highest carbon emissions, both per capita and overall. They are polluting the atmosphere of both their own country and the entire world. This needs to stop. They need to set goals and take action such as 100% renewable energy, the use of fossil fuels as raw materials, and full electrification. The U.S. needs to transform from a country that constantly pollutes the world and triggers a climate crisis that could bring about the end of humanity, into a country that reduces carbon emissions to negative levels and sets an example for all countries.

9) Racism and Discrimination: The extent of racism and discrimination in the U.S. is by far the highest. Although the U.S., which has experienced a civil war, lost millions of citizens, and passed great tests in this struggle, has made progress, racism and discrimination cannot be prevented. The uncompromising, lack of empathy, and violent behavior of security forces, far from preventing incidents, actually fuels them. The short-term solution to this problem is to prevent racist or discriminatory people from being appointed to leadership positions (merit should be the main criterion here), and the long-term solution lies in the education system.

10) Advanced Democracy: Democratic systems are collapsing in many parts of the world. Generally, these countries are governed by evil characters who deceive the people, constantly lie, manipulate, and prioritize their own personal gain. Unfortunately, this has also happened in the U.S., which is often presented to us as a ‘well-functioning democratic system.’ To prevent these evil characters and enemies of humanity from coming to power, democratic systems need adjustments. I will discuss the details of this in another blog post later, but for now, I can summarize my thoughts with these tips: It is necessary to establish very clear rules for both the voters and the elected.

In these elections, which affect the fate of countries, and even a country like the U.S., the entire world, those who vote and those elected by these votes must meet certain criteria. In other words, the right to vote and the right to be elected must be earned. It is essential to adjust the system so that those who do not meet these criteria cannot vote or be elected. Otherwise, many criminals with low levels of education and moral values will continue to elect leaders who are also criminal, lack vision, and are self-serving, and countries will drift aimlessly. The good people living in those countries will suffer the consequences. This situation needs to change in all countries, including the U.S.

11) International Cooperation: Instead of closing itself off, the U.S. needs to open itself up. All kinds of international collaborations that will develop the country should be encouraged, and the concept of strategic partnerships should be reintroduced. Let me give a more obvious example. Instead of fighting with China, an agreement should be signed at the state level to clarify the positions of Chinese and American companies and make this a team effort. If everyone fulfills their role in this way, order in the world will be established. The main goal is to ensure the well-being and healthy lives of all citizens of the world.

Historic Words of the Canadian Prime Minister

After sharing all these summarized solution proposals with you, I would like to conclude my remarks with the speech by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, which left its mark on the Davos summit. You can watch a summary of this speech, which perfectly expresses my feelings and thoughts, at this link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTxrI6Ck-qX/?igsh=NDQzdzl6ZmQzbzhz Carney says:

“We knew the story of the international rules-based order was partly false. We knew that the rules didn’t always apply to the powerful, that the rules of trade didn’t work equally for everyone, that international law was applied differently depending on the identity of the accused and the victim. But this construct suited us. Especially since it supported American hegemony with social benefits, offshore routes, a stable financial system, collective security, and dispute resolution mechanisms. So we took our place on this side. We participated in the rituals. We largely ignored the gap between what was said and what was done. This bargain no longer works.

Let me be clear. We are not in the midst of a transition, but a breakdown. The crises in finance, health, energy, and geopolitics in recent years have revealed the dangers of excessive globalization. Lately, major powers have begun to use economic integration as a weapon. They have used tariffs as a bargaining chip. They have bullied with financial infrastructure, exploiting supply chains as weaknesses. If integration means your submission, then the lie of mutual benefit is no longer viable.” “You cannot take refuge.”

In these times when the end of liberal democracy and globalization is being discussed, and the crisis of hegemony is intensifying in the world, Carney’s statements stand out as a clear revelation that the end of the world system as we know it has arrived.

Having sought to exploit the financial and military power of the U.S. to the fullest extent and gain its own advantage, the Trump Administration has now swallowed the bitter pill. Previous U.S. administrations also had many problems and mistakes. However, after the Trump Administration’s continuous series of critical mistakes, it seems the die is cast. I hope that one day U.S. officials will consider my suggestions above and evolve in the right direction. Otherwise, we are on the verge to witnessing the end of the U.S.
